Alexia Roca is a self-taught designer who is reshaping the landscape of American jewelry and home accessories by redefining what handmade looks like in the 21st century. Alexia's first love, designing jewelry is a natural evolution that stems from a lifelong interest in creative design. Alexia’s creative lineage goes back to her great-grandfather, a leather crafter from Lisbon, Portugal, her grandmother an accomplished hat maker and seamstress, and her father, a leather crafter, builder, and author. As a young girl, Alexia will never forget spending time with her father as he sold his leather handbags, belts, and other accessories at the New Market in Society Hill in Philadelphia.
Each collection that Alexia designs is inspired by passion and a sense of feminine strength that she pulls from her mother's classic demure feminine style. Her unapologetic approach to the art of jewelry has garnered customers' attention since the brand’s inception in 2005. All handmade jewelry is made with responsibly sourced genuine semiprecious gemstones with unique cuts, shapes, colors, gold-filled or gold-plated brass, and love.
In addition to making jewelry, Alexia’s love of fashion and home decor is a natural extension of her eponymous brand. As a designer, Alexia continues to create designs to help fill the voids in the market and expand to additional categories. This, paired with her uncanny ability to connect with her clientele in a sincere authentic way through her collections, has solidified Alexia Roca as a multi-dimensional, boundary-breaking brand.
